Haven been blogging for the week. Dun really have much time to sit down and think of what to blog cause things are starting to pick up. Course is starting to get into pace with readings and homeworks now and then.

Anyway, J n A have also arrived in Houston and all of us have been meeting up and hanging around. It kinda feels funny cause all of us have some how got 2gether in a foreign land and it feels as if we are back in Novena. See each other almost every other day... haha

I'm starting to pick up tennis again and N is a pretty good teacher. Just bought my racket @ this tennis shop and i like the feel of the racket alot. The strokes feel powerful and strong. Hmm... maybe i will really pick up the sport cause i like it quite a lot.

Ok! time to mug again... ciaoz!

I suddenly got this sudden urge to blog and so here i am!! Two things sparked off this impulse to blog these stuff.

I nearly got into a car accident yesterday. haha it was quite funny actually cause i was driving along the freeway trying to find the place that we were supposed to go to and i realised that i missed the exit. So i turned at the next one to make a U-turn. I stopped at the red-light for the left turn and when the lights turn green, i instinctively just turned my steering wheel left into the adjacent lane... shit! i 4got that i am driving in the US... so actually i have turned into the wrong lane with incoming traffic and i saw this car coming towards us....(lucky he was still quite far away). I had no time to backup (there were cars behind), there was no more space in front (the head of my truck was already in the 2nd lane). Stucked!! Doomed!!

Instinctively, i jammed on the accelerator and went straight... up the curb and over the curb into the opposite lane (which was the correct lane for me) luckily, the car by my side saw me in this dire situation and slowed down else i would have ramped into him... Woah.. close shave huh? Got a shock out of my life... but after that... smooth journey to and back home... kudos to the truck! a car would never have been able to do that...

I watched Dark Knight just now. Haha actually it was suppose to be a whole day maths lesson in the class but managed to pass the preliminary test so was excused from it.. had a headache while coming out from the class (hey!! try doing the maths w/o a calculator and you will know what i mean)..
The movie was awesome but what really caught me was this scene when joker said to batman.. ".....(blah blah blah)....You complete me.."
I heard this phrase before somewhere and i was shocked to hear it here..
Yup! the show was Jerry MaGuire and it was the scene when Jerry McGuire (Tom Cruise) said to Dorothy (Renee) "....you complete me..." that scene to me was the most perfect scene in the whole show.... it was the perfect word given the setting, the situation, the person saying it, the tone....

Strange enough, the exact same words coming from Joker's mouth din sound as beautiful as how i always though of that phrase. But anyway, Dark Knight is an awesome movie! Everyone should watch!

I finally got my car yesterday!!! its a truck actually.. a chevy c1500 V8!! wow can you imagine the power that truck have!! i am suppose to be excited over it... but... Ok.. i think i am not over with the car suay-ness thing..

i checked the truck carefully when i was handled the keys but when i drove it back to the hotel, i heard a hissing sound coming from my truck!! a big bolt was stuck in the front tire of my truck and punctured the tire!! how izzit possible!! whats the probability of a bolt standing up in the middle of the road.... in the end i had to wait for the guys from my company to come get my truck to the mechanic...

Anway... I finally got down to experiment cooking food for myself. Actually i quite enjoyed cooking but hate the washing part.. here's a preview!!

Went over to Galleria yesteday which was supposed to be the largest shopping mall in Houston.
This time i took over the keys from N and i had a hell of a ride. As you all know, its a V10, 6.8L van, so you can sorta guess the size of the van. In fact, it was the largest moving thing that i have driven so far..

I did had the most crazy driving experience that day. Actually the drive was alright until i reached galleria and was looking for a parking lot. The guys told me to turn right to enter the free parking zone and it was only when i turned then did i realise that it was a basement parking with a clearance of only 6' 6....

As i was stuck there with cars behind me, i could only move forward... My van was simply scraping the top of the the ceiling!! haha neeber did that before in SG!! it was simply crazy!! haha

Went for our first trip in Houston yesterday since it was a sat.

N guess what! We went to the beach, yup! Went to the Galveston beach with all the other fishermen... haha its a weird experience to go to the beach with a funny mix of people including some uncles and diff nationalities..

This is the van which we have been driving for the week to take us to places.. its a V10!! 6.2litres!!

We got hungry on the way and stopped over for lunch @ this place cause all of us were craving for seafood... turns out they have really good food!! good shrimps and fish!

The food taste really good even though its just some store by the road.

Course officially started today n we were brought down to the legendary Spencer Rd office. Its one of those office that i think all W staff would wanna visit once in their entire career. True to its name, the office is awesome.

There were all the protoypes of the tools that i have read about but neber seen in actual. Not only that, the canteen food is also fantastic! We had fajitas for lunch and it was really good.. it was so good it was like what people would pay for to eat @ iguana... (sorry no pics cause i thought it would be quite sua-ku to take pics there haha)

After that, D brought us to Wal-Mart and I finally got my phone.

Ok! enough of the work crap...
Dinner was cool!! D brought us to the Hooters restaurant here in Houston and oh man! IT WAS GOOD!! if you have been to the hooter's here, you would never want to step into the one in SG again... haha i think we will see ourselves hanging around more in Hooters.. (sorry guys... no pics again..)

Its 1045pm here in houston.

I can't fall asleep even though I have to be ready for my orientation day 2molo by 7am. My whole body alarm is screwed.... I keep waking up very early in the day and sleeping during lunch.. i need to get things in order fast so that i can start my FRE course...

This is how my room looks like.. there is a mini living room, a queen size bed, a kitchen and a toilet at the corner.

N managed to borrow a car from his friend... a beetle!! Doesn't it look so gay for 4 guys to squeeze into a beetle?

We were so bored in the rooms that we decided to go for a movie - Wallae

This is my lunch.... look at the size of it!! I was so full after the meal that i fell asleep immediately after eating it..

Yuppie! I finally set foot onto the states.

Landed on Houston yesterday at around 10pm. By the time we reached the hotel, it was close to midnight already. Everything was quite ok until we got hungry.

Heard lots of time before from sis that its very hard to get around in Houston w/o a car and now i really what she meant. Everything is so spread out around here. Luckily there's a fast food outlet (Jack in the box) around our hotel but the stoopid thing is only the drive thru is open 24hrs, they dun serve walk-ins and we dun have a car!!! - Part of their company policy cause they are afraid of being mobbed. - So we were like idiots lottering around trying to get some food...

Actually Houston is quite a nice place to be in... i am startting to like the feeling of being an expat in a foreign country. I get a nice appt for myself, going to get a car soon and i am also getting allowance and plus i get alll the freedom i want!! Doesn't that sound perfect?

Ok time to get some sleep else i wun be able to get past the jet lag. Nitey nitez
